Introducing Team Hong Kong for the 2018 ISA World SUP and Paddleboard Championship

The 2018 ISA World SUP and Paddleboard Championship is almost upon us! In case you don't know, the ISA World is the biggest and most recognized Global SUP competition of the year. And in 2018, ISA World will be held in Wanning, China, from Nov 23 to Dec 2!

Demonstrating the growth in Asia, teams from China, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei will be joining the competition for the first time in 2018. And as you are reading this newsletter, Team Hong Kong - our best of the best has already departed for Wanning and getting ready for the big race!

Introducing Team Hong Kong

Ng Ying Kun - Alan, one of our best and brightest, will be racing in the Long Distance, Sprint and Technical Category. It's Alan's second time joining ISA race, he is feeling excited to compete with racers from different countries, he hopes to have better results than last year!

Wong yu him, Himson - first time participant of the ISA World, hopes to get in top shape and aims to achieve top 30 in both the Men Long Distance and Technical Category! He's been training very hard for this and we wish him the best of luck!

Tio Ching, one of our two female adult racers, will be competing in the 200m Sprint, Long Distance and Technical categories. Tio is feeling stoked to join the ISA race the second time, she aims to finish the race and learn from other top paddlers from the around the world.

Pang Yuen Hing, Alice, our second adult female racers, is very excited about this race! She aims to archive a good result for her first time racing in the ISA world. SUP long distance and technical races will be her primary focus. 

And finally, our youngest racers - the 16 years-old Jack Seymour and 15 years-old Jim Nga Woon (Jade) will also be joining team Hong Kong to race this time! This is particularly meaningful because it is the first time ever the ISA World includes a u18 division! The world’s best junior SUP racers will vie for Gold Medals in the SUP Technical Race. Both of our junior racers are very excited to represent Hong Kong and determine to get to the podium, so let's give them a shout out here and wish them the best!

So there you go, here are our team representing Hong Kong to race in the biggest and fiercest SUP race of the year. They have been preparing and training intensively for the past year for this race and we have no doubt that they will perform their best and make us proud!
